Anti-Money Laundering, KYC and CDD
SOMBANK adheres to all local and international regulatory mandates of Anti Money Laundering, Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Terror Detection measures. We are continuously regulated by Central Bank of Somalia, Additionally, we enforce the measure set out by FSA in Europe, FinCEN in the US and the UN. Our Compliance Officers regularly receive intensive Anti-Money Laundering training, KYC, and they in turn focus on enhancing the training of SOMBANK Personnel in complying with the laws and regulations governing all aspects of their money transfer operation.

Background on SOMBANK

SOMBANK was launched on 15 July 2019 in Garowe, Somalia. It has a strong partnership with its sister Company of Tawakal Money Transfer. This means that it is in a position to tap into a large customer base which is already in place, and to also draw on the expertise its sister Company had amassed through its many years in the financial sector in Somalia.

SOMBANK had already made significant investment in fixed assets in Somalia in the form of Commercial Buildings developed in the Capital Mogadishu, Garowe, Galkacyo, Galdogob, Bosasso and many more such investments are planned.
